A most wonderful IJ friend left me a message this morning about Gale and when I read this
Gale Harold Out of Intensive Care
(I changed the pic to one of my favorites)
"The Insider" can confirm the news that "Desperate Housewives" star Gale Harold is on the road to recovery.
A rep for the actor, who plays Teri Hatcher's character's love interest on the ABC hit, tells "The Insider": "Gale Harold is out of intensive care and improving daily. A full recovery is expected. He thanks everyone for their good wishes."
Harold was injured in a motorcycle accident last week.
This is how I felt
Seriously, this is the best headline ever.
Get better Gale

A few updates while I have time. All good!
A few updates from around the net:

"I just heard from Stephen Lynch (makeup artist for QAF) and he has talked
to Peter and Scott and say that Gale is going to be OK and that he is
"cranky as hell.) Those are his words not mine."

LOS ANGELES—"Desperate Housewives" actor Gale Harold was improving Thursday after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident two days earlier, hospital officials said.
Harold was under observation in the intensive care unit at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said.
The actor, who plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character Susan Mayer on the ABC show, had swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder but is expected to recover.
He will be transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center when a bed becomes available, De La Cerda said.
LJ post-
Generally speaking the news is good. He is still in a room that is restricted to both visitors and gifts. His memory is slowly returning which is a sign of reduced swelling. He is wearing a foam neck brace, and a sling for his shoulder. The doctors will continue to monitor his progress but it does appear that each day he is improving. --DH Exec Producer
Sounds like Gale's improving.

Ending the day on a better news note
I belong to a community on Live Journal and there was a locked post with an update on Gale. I'm only posting the part that was made public. It's good news and it's the most current that I can find right now.
Hi,
I’ve spoken with Gale’s publicist this morning and here is her update: she told me that Gale has been moved out of critical care this morning, was coherent last night but has no memory of what happened and was asking why he was in the hospital at all. The doctors continue to observe the swelling of the brain but every hour brings him that much closer to being out of the woods. All positive news. He will remain in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time and the 48 hours of critical observation will be over by tomorrow morning.

What a long and emotional day.
I've been putting together my thoughts on DH episodes 502 and 503 and intended to post them today but I got a little sidetracked.
I know that there are very serious issues in this world and especially in this country right now and that Gale being in a motorcycle accident seems like a minor footnote to everything else. But it's Gale and I'm a Gale fan-girl.
Get better Gale.

New news about Gale from buddytv.com
Gale Harold, who currently portrays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on Desperate Housewives, was in a motorcycle accident yesterday.
Harold, who was expected on the Desperate Housewives set today, has been a fairly big part of this season, and his character will play an important role in the eighth episode.
First reported to be in critical condition, reports are surfacing that Gale Harold is currently in stable condition, and is expected to make a full recovery, according to Desperate Housewives executive producer Marc Cherry.
Harold fractured his shoulder in the accident, and had some swelling to his brain, though it must be reinforced that he is expected to be OK and make a full recovery. Gale Harold is currently at the USC Medical Center in their Intensive Care Unity undergoing further tests. The 38-year-old actor has become a staple on popular television shows in recent years, though he has yet to become a household name.
In addition to his work on Desperate Housewives, Harold has appeared on such shows as Vanished, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order: SVU, Deadwood (as famed lawman Wyatt Earp) and The Unit. His first big starring role was as the domineering Brian Kinney on Showtime's Queer as Folk, the American remake of the popular British series.Desperate Housewives is currently in its fifth season.
While the series began its first few years as a ratings and critical sensation, the series petered out some in the last couple seasons. After season 4, show runner Marc Cherry decided to take a cue from Lost and fast-forwarded the series five years into the future. According to the Desperate Housewives staff, this has revitalized the series. It was a risky move for a well-established show, but the early returns from fans are good. Desperate Housewives airs its fourth episode of the season this Sunday at 9pm.
A little shot of Gale tummy always makes me feel better :)

I like the hobo look on Gale
Marc Cherry is SUCH a Queer As Folk fanboy!
And he's having some serious fun with Jackson.
I am so glad to see Gale back on TV. Thank you Marc and ABC and Gale's agent and anyone else that had anything to do with landing him this job.
"Are you dissing my sense of style?"
OMG the love.

Future Gale!
Thanks to the fangirls on my LJ f-list and at the IMDB board for the spoiler pics from Desperate Housewives episode 5.
This looks like a serious relationship moment. And not in a good way. *worries*
I will pull out my fangirl card and say that I LOVE how Gale looks in this scene. The hair's a little messier, which is always a good look on him. The shirt is different, BUT, he's a painter and most likely a very creative type and I have no doubt that he can pull it off :D Also, brown is a good color on him.
And the best part? It's the return of semi-scruffy Gale!
Oh semi-scruffy Gale, how I love thee!
A little side-note to Susan: break his heart and risk the wrath of his legions of fangirls. I'm just saying.

Some good Gale press
A link for a great review of the new season of Desperate Housewives, plus a very positive mention about Gale and his storyline. It's by Dawn Meade Davenport at the JohnsonCityPress.com
Here's a quick excerpt:
My favorite storyline by far, though, is Susan’s attempt to move on after the breakup of her marriage to Mike. Her hunky painter boyfriend, played by Gale Harold of Showtime’s late “Queer as Folk,” sexes the show up a bit, much the way Gaby’s lawn boy John did in Season 1, except with depth and maturity. I figured I’d be longing for a Susan-and-Mike reunion, but I’m really rooting for new beau Jackson and was encouraged to see that Mike really wants her to be happy. So do I.
