My favorite storyline by far, though, is Susan’s attempt to move on after the breakup of her marriage to Mike. Her hunky painter boyfriend, played by Gale Harold of Showtime’s late “Queer as Folk,” sexes the show up a bit, much the way Gaby’s lawn boy John did in Season 1, except with depth and maturity. I figured I’d be longing for a Susan-and-Mike reunion, but I’m really rooting for new beau Jackson and was encouraged to see that Mike really wants her to be happy. So do I.
