Good Gale news

Here's the latest Gale buzz making it's way around the net, courtesy of TVGuide.com.

A couple of the more relevant parts:

"We are working on bringing him back to the show. We just don't know when," Housewives producers say in a statement to TVGuide.com. "Because we had to work around his absence, the story doesn't require him immediately. But we would like to have him back on the show very soon."

So would his fans. But, it gets better:

As Harold continues to recuperate fully from his accident, rumors have swirled that he might not ever return to Housewives, or at least not until next season. Rebuffing such buzz, his spokesperson assures us, "Gale is terrific," adding, "He's the Gale we know and love."

And the very best part:

Similarly, Housewives producers described Harold's recent drop-by as "fantastic," saying, "He looks great, he's completely himself and we had a wonderful time."

Could you ask for any better news on a Thursday afternoon? I don't think so.

Gale and the cast of Queer As Folk

I'm having a bad day so I thought that I'd cheer myself up with a pic of Gale and the cast of Queer As Folk.

This is one of my favorite promo shots from the series. It's from season four. The entire cast looks great.







I'm starting to feel better.

You may think you, but you don't know. You know?

Busy, and slightly confusing times, Gale fans.

I was going to skip the whole "Will he or won't he be back on Desperate Housewives?" drama that's ensued the last couple days but Google alerts won't let me! And no, cancelling them is not an option. How else am I going to know when other Gale fans around the world type his name in cyberspace?

First, there was this bit of depressing news that showed up in a Google alert, which did include a stern statement from Gale's publicist: Harold's rep insisted there's nothing to be concerned with regarding her client: "He is fine. Your source is wrong," the publicist stated. IMHO, I seriously doubt that he really is "fine". If that were the case, he'd already be back at work. But, I digress.

Then, after the fangirls/fanboys called "foul" on the article, citing a previous, more positive "Gale sighting", the story was updated to let his fans know that he's been to the set to loop some scenes.

Confused yet?

I'm sure that the truth, whatever it is, lies somewhere between these two updates. And like everything else related to Gale, when, or if, he ever wants us to know anything about him, he'll tell us.

But I won't be holding my breath. I don't look that good in blue :D

So how about a gratuitous "Gale without a shirt" pic! When I first saw this, I thought it was from Queer As Folk, but then I quickly realized that Brian Kinney wouldn't be caught dead on those sheets. Seriously.



Damn, he looks good.


It's from the TV movie "Fathers and Sons", which I just added to my blockbuster.net queue because I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more than the person whose review is on the IMDB page, because *ouch* they did not like the movie at all.

A few days later, I zipped to the Kirk Douglas Theatre to see The Little Dog Laughed with original stars Johnny Galecki (he of the impressive appendage, on display at BillyMasters.com), and Julie White (she of the Tony Award). While it was easily one of my favorite LA theatrical experiences of 2008, I wasn’t alone. Sitting way in the penultimate row, hiding his scruffiness under a cap, was Gale Harold. Yes, the recently hospitalized actor is up and about. We can reveal exclusively that he’ll be returning to Desperate Housewives after the holiday break.

I finally got the Deadwood DVD that has Gale's episodes on it. Now I can get the answer to one of my many burning questions, which in this case is: Why is Cowboy Gale throwing tree stumps around?

Oh Cowboy Gale, where are you?

WTH fangirls and/or fanboys! Why aren't you returning the Deadwood DVD disc that has Gale's appearance on it back to Blockbuster so they can ship it to me A.S.A.P.? I hate having to stalk the mail lady, but you're leaving me no choice.


Don't make me get Quick-draw Gale to pop a cap in your ass.

How is it that I've never seen Gale on Deadwood?

I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I never watched the show while it was on the air, but hey! It's GALE. There is really no excuse.

So while I patiently await the delivery of the Deadwood DVD's from Blockbuster, I shall be content with gazing at the scruffy, messy, definitely-in-need-of-a-hot-bath Gale, wearing an oh-so-sexy ensemble of purple polka dotted shirt with a striped vest and a blue (black?) neck thingy. And rolled up sleeves. I like the rolled up sleeves.

Such a good pic. So serious with just a touch of sadness. It graces the background of my twitter account, the wallpaper on my Zune and I rotate it out with many other Gale and Brian and Justin pics on my laptop. Such long lashes!


It looks like tonight will probably be the last time we see Gale on DH. (At least that's the consensus on the IMDB boards.)

I hope Gale's at-home recovery is going well and that he's getting better every day. And if he ever needs someone to give him a sponge-bath, I'm always available :)

LOS ANGELES—"Desperate Housewives" actor Gale Harold was improving Thursday after suffering serious injuries in a motorcycle accident two days earlier, hospital officials said.
Harold was under observation in the intensive care unit at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Adelaida De La Cerda said.

The actor, who plays Jackson, the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character Susan Mayer on the ABC show, had swelling on the brain and a fractured shoulder but is expected to recover.

He will be transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center when a bed becomes available, De La Cerda said.

Generally speaking the news is good. He is still in a room that is restricted to both visitors and gifts. His memory is slowly returning which is a sign of reduced swelling. He is wearing a foam neck brace, and a sling for his shoulder. The doctors will continue to monitor his progress but it does appear that each day he is improving. --DH Exec Producer

I belong to a community on Live Journal and there was a locked post with an update on Gale. I'm only posting the part that was made public. It's good news and it's the most current that I can find right now.


Hi,

I’ve spoken with Gale’s publicist this morning and here is her update: she told me that Gale has been moved out of critical care this morning, was coherent last night but has no memory of what happened and was asking why he was in the hospital at all. The doctors continue to observe the swelling of the brain but every hour brings him that much closer to being out of the woods. All positive news. He will remain in the hospital for an undetermined amount of time and the 48 hours of critical observation will be over by tomorrow morning.

What a long and emotional day.

I've been putting together my thoughts on DH episodes 502 and 503 and intended to post them today but I got a little sidetracked.

I know that there are very serious issues in this world and especially in this country right now and that Gale being in a motorcycle accident seems like a minor footnote to everything else. But it's Gale and I'm a Gale fan-girl.

Gale Harold, who currently portrays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on Desperate Housewives, was in a motorcycle accident yesterday.

Harold, who was expected on the Desperate Housewives set today, has been a fairly big part of this season, and his character will play an important role in the eighth episode.

First reported to be in critical condition, reports are surfacing that Gale Harold is currently in stable condition, and is expected to make a full recovery, according to Desperate Housewives executive producer Marc Cherry.

Harold fractured his shoulder in the accident, and had some swelling to his brain, though it must be reinforced that he is expected to be OK and make a full recovery. Gale Harold is currently at the USC Medical Center in their Intensive Care Unity undergoing further tests. The 38-year-old actor has become a staple on popular television shows in recent years, though he has yet to become a household name.

In addition to his work on Desperate Housewives, Harold has appeared on such shows as Vanished, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order: SVU, Deadwood (as famed lawman Wyatt Earp) and The Unit. His first big starring role was as the domineering Brian Kinney on Showtime's Queer as Folk, the American remake of the popular British series.Desperate Housewives is currently in its fifth season.

While the series began its first few years as a ratings and critical sensation, the series petered out some in the last couple seasons. After season 4, show runner Marc Cherry decided to take a cue from Lost and fast-forwarded the series five years into the future. According to the Desperate Housewives staff, this has revitalized the series. It was a risky move for a well-established show, but the early returns from fans are good. Desperate Housewives airs its fourth episode of the season this Sunday at 9pm.
